FLOAT HOUSE by MORPHOSIS

this is a house designed and built for brad pitt’s MAKE IT RIGHT FOUNDATION in new orleans…what first drew me to this house was its playful exterior and use of colors, patterns and crooked shapes but what made me like it even more is how it is designed to be affordable and withstand flooding…basically it is designed to act as a raft as the water level rises and can be risen up to 3.7 meters and is secured in place by posts…i think this a great example of how good things can come out of a disaster and a very creative way to solve new orlean’s housing and flooding issues
